Our Story
The Alchemy of a Father/Son Dream
That’s the magic that created Smugglers’ Notch Distillery®, owned by father and son Ron and Jeremy Elliott. Ron, a retired business executive, and Jeremy, a research chemist in the pharmaceutical industry, inventoried their strengths and followed their collective passion to work as a team to create a distillery in the Vermont mountains.
A Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for our award-winning vodka back in 2011, through countless awards for each new offering -- whether hopped or 802 gin, bourbon, rum, wheat whiskey, or maple bourbon underscore that we strive for a memorable experience with every sip.Smugglers’ Notch Distillery® has received accolades from both beverage industry connoisseurs and thousands of fans in Vermont and beyond for extraordinary small batch, distinctive spirits that can stand alone or bring any mixed drink up that notch to exceptional.
